Albums

The discography of American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for lacking hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group, and the band held auditions for the new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The band went through old recordings and tapes to create the unique record. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked upon a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer during the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live album titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with Toto.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has also released several compilation videos and DVDs. The band's most popular video is "Africa", with over one billion views. The video takes place in a library and shows the band performing in front of a pile of books about Africa.

The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge hit in Europe as well as other countries. In 1998, Toto started working on a project entitled Old Is New. This album featured three new tracks and several completed recordings of older songs. The album became a huge success and the band went on tour to promote the album.

The album came out on November 6, 2018 and included three brand new tracks from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, plus completed recordings of four older tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album included an original cover version of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" that the band added after hearing it on the radio.
