The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities in the overseas market and operating in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an opportunity to grow for bidet and washlet toilet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was recording Toto words to ensure that the next generation would be able to read the words. However, many words were being replaced with foreign words, such as dui, which is Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Toto's early history which began in 1917, mirrored Japan's rapid economic expansion. In the beginning of its existence, the company made products to meet the demand for modern and contemporary urban housing. It had the first tunnel kiln in the nation to continuously produce ceramics. It also pioneered the use of automation for production control, which helps to increase efficiency and consistency.
In the late 1980s, the company began to expand overseas to profit from sales and new markets. The company established the Cera Trading Company to import and sell other manufacturers' products to enhance its own range of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and increased the firm's global market share.
In the 1990s, Toto began focusing on research and development of water-related appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better serve the needs of its customers and to increase profits. The company adopted a just-in-time method of managing supply chains and used the same method in its sales strategy. This resulted in a higher level of satisfaction of customers.
Toto continued to develop toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for instance it has an extremely powerful tornado flush that is more environmentally friendly than conventional toilets. Toto also makes use of recycled water in its production process and has a green procurement policy. Toto also manufactures bathtubs, faucets, and hand dryers with greater energy efficiency than conventional models.
The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It has exhibitions on the most iconic products of Toto and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics), the history of plumbing and other products like bath units. In a separate gallery you can view Toto products that are sold throughout. The museum also includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet and other toilet-related innovations.
Before the formation of Toto the members of the band did sessions for various musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich and guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather as well as drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also played on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
You might expect a band with a name such as Asia to be a prog band however it's actually a fairly straight forward rock group. The group started out as a quartet, and they released two albums - 1979's self titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. Although the band have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest hit was achieved in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster but not without its difficulties. The record companies put the band under pressure to deliver the top single or else they would pull the album. Luckily for Toto, they did and they did it with the help of the smash hit single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experience in the music industry, as the band members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their sonic signature has become the norm for '80s pop, and has influenced many contemporary artists.
The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write amazing AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into your mind. The album also contains jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. 토토사이트 꽁머니 concludes with Great Expectations, a song that combines folk with distortion AOR and should sound totally wrong, but works wonderfully well.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band went through several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. The group managed to release a chart-topping album, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked Toto's final lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new vocalist.

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet style of previous albums and was a more powerful, constant effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The more edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the maturation in the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate and less cloned earlier recordings.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live concert that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. A new studio album followed just a few months later and the group went on a long-distance tour in support of it. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old demos and tapes in search of a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was completed in 2001 as a duo album titled Then & Now. It was the first album by the band without a single song titled "A". The album also contained a previously unreleased track "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and vocalist Williams was suffering from a severe laryngitis condition which hampered his singing. In addition, Hungate returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia were in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the band could be revived. The lineup, which was minus Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was eventually referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also had a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
